Introduction
The pediatric department is situated on the second floor of the Hospital Putrajaya.

Facilities and Services
The Department shall provide services in the following areas:
a) General Pediatrics Ward. 
b) Neonatal Intensive Care Ward. 
c) Pediatric Daycare Ward 
d) Pediatric Specialist Clinics
e) Intensive Care/High Dependency Units.


General Pediatric Ward
This Child Friendly Ward has 28 beds/cots to cater for both medical and surgical cases of children below the age of 12.It has a closed room concept to ensure privacy for both clients and their accompanying care givers. Nursing care will be client-based. This ward has a beautifully designed play room, a small library to keep the studious ones occupied and an outdoor garden to cater for the more robust ones to run around.


Neonatal Intensive Care
This 14 bedded ward which provides up to level 3(intensive) care for babies under 1 month old has the capacity to ventilate 6 patients at any one time. The services here extend to the delivery suites, obstetric wards and OT. This unit shall admit both inborn and outborn babies from surrounding areas. Limited rooming in facilities for nursing mothers are available within the premises.


Pediatric Daycare Ward
This ward provides services to all daycare cases such as clients requiring regular blood transfusions and those undergoing short procedures requiring sedation without having to stay overnight. This ward has shared facilities with the adult medical daycare service.


Pediatric Specialist Clinic
All referred and follow up cases will be seen on an appointment basis. Clinics will be operational everyday except Fridays and Saturdays. Clinic hours are from 8.00am to 12.00pm. Cases will be streamed lined according to their underlying medical problems as follows:

Intensive Care/High Dependency Units

This area will cater for ill children above 1 month of age requiring assisted ventilation and close monitoring. The facilities are jointly shared by the adult ICU/HDU patients.
