Introduction The Department of Pathology is situated on the ground floor and is accessed via the Main entrance. The Mortuary is situated on the Lower Ground with its own access road. The Pathology Department is essentially Hospital based and clinically oriented, largely concerned with the testing of biological samples obtained from clients. The tests offered are to diagnose or to monitor disease or the progress of disease in the clinical setting. The Pathology Department has its own Laboratory Information System (ILMS) which is linked to the Hospital Information System (HIS). Combination of both systems will allow clinicians to view test results immediately from any location of the hospital.
