Introduction Pharmacy Services is part of the clinical support services available in Putrajaya Hospital. The main focus of the Pharmacy Department is to provide quality ambulatory and in-patient care services, as well as effective pharmacy practice through optimal individualized pharmaceutical care to patients. The Pharmacy Department is also responsible for procurement of drugs and consumables and plays a vital role in promoting rational, cost-effective drug usage through an efficient delivery system.

The Pharmacy Department is responsible for the following activities: a) Dispensing of pharmaceutical products to in-patients and outpatients b) Patient counseling on use of drugs c) Drug information service d) Monitoring drug usage, trend and cost effectiveness e) Ensuring rational use of drugs (effectiveness and safety) f) Therapeutic drug monitoring service g) Compounding of sterile and non-sterile preparations h) Education & training of pharmacy staff i) Management of procurement and distribution of drugs and other medical/surgical supplies

Value Added Services (VAS) Our VAS is one of Putrajaya Hospital’s Innovation Projects which was developed to ease patients on collecting partial medications with increased feasibility as follows: a) "Pharmacy SMS Take N Go” provides an appointment-based system for patients to collect partial medications at the designated counter, with 2 allocated parking lots for this purpose. b) “Ubat Melalui Pos” (UMP) provides delivery of partial medications to patients’ houses via Poslaju service. c) "Medibox” provides an appointment-based system for patients to collect partial medications at designated lockers located at the main lobby. d) “Drive Thru HPJ at IKN” provides an appointment-based system for patients to collect partial medications at the drive-through pharmacy counter at Institut Kanser Negara (situated next to Hospital Putrajaya).
