Introduction & Background
Information Management Unit previously known as Information and Communication Technology Unit was established in 2005, comprising two (2) officers, Assistant Information Technology Officer, Grade F32 and Assistant Information Technology Officer, Grade F29. In June 2007, the staffing of  this Unit had increased in the presence of a Computer Technician, Grade FT17. In the middle of 2008, the Unit was led by the Information Technology Officer, Grade F44, managing the work previously carried out by the Administrative and Diplomatic Officer which includes server room administration, monitoring and implementation of network infrastructure and matters related to ICT for the entire divisions and clinics under Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya Health Department.

Objectives
Information Management Unit was set up with the objective of providing ICT technical support and applications to the Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya Health Department, to ensure that ICT facilities and services can be used in assisting the Department to  carry out its functions efficiently and effectively.
Functions
  • To manage and maintain the network, hardware, software and services related to computing.       
  • To conduct training to related system users
  • To maintain and update the department's website.
  • To plan the development of systems
  • To provide technical support and advice
  • To act as Secretariat for IT Committee.

Client's Charter

To ensure the achievement of the vision and objectives set, Information Management Unit is committed to:
  • Ensure that  troubleshooting and guidance to the users  are taken care within 3 hours after the  complaint received
  • Ensure that maintenance work excluding those involve external parties reported by users are taken action within three (3) days
  • Ensure the website is updated every seven (7) day
